Profile: Vasfiye Geçkin completed her BA and MA studies at Foreign Language Education
Department, Bogaziçi University, Turkey. She earned her PhD degree in Linguistics from the
University of Potsdam, Germany and Macquarie University, Australia. She worked as a
postdoctoral research fellow on the H2020 Project ‘L2TOR- Second language tutoring using
social robots’ at Koç University, Turkey. She has been working as an assistant professor at
the Foreign Language Education Department in İzmir Democracy University, Turkey since
2019. Her research interests include language acquisition, childhood bilingualism, speech
processing and feedback preferences and practices in foreign/second language classrooms.
