Profile: DR. ERWIN L. PURCIA hails all the way from Calbayog City, Samar. He is a graduate of Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English-Cum Laude at Northwest Samar State University, a master\'s degree holder in English at Christ the King College, and a doctorate holder with Doctor of Arts in Language and Literature at the University of Eastern Philippines. He is currently enrolled with another master\'s degree with Master of Research and Development Management at the University of the Philippines, Open University. He has taught initially as a Secondary School Teacher-I in Calbayog City National High School, Calbayog City, Samar for 3 years and got a quantum leap promotion into becoming a Senior Education Program Specialist in Social Mobilization and Networking in the Schools Division of Calbayog City. Longing for his first love which is teaching, after 1 year of being a SEPS-SMN, he went back to teaching as Master Teacher-II in the Senior High School Program of his previous station. Two years after, to realize his dream of taking a Post-doctorate in Manila, he decided to leave DepEd and enrolled in Post-doctorate in Total Quality Management in Higher Education at Centro Escolar University, Manila and graduated just last August 2020.
Further, he has taught general education courses in Mapua University, Manila, worked as Principal of the Basic Education Department and Dean of the School of Graduate Studies in Dr. Carlos S. Lanting College in Quezon City and immersed in the entertainment world as freelance Communication Specialist in one of the country\'s talent agencies-the Profiles Entertainment Productions (PEP). He is an editorial board member of several research journals in the country and abroad. He has membership in various professional organizations- Lifetime Member, Social Sciences and Management Researchers Organization based in Australia, Journal of Learning and Instruction, Bali, Indonesia, Korean Association for the Study of English Language and Linguistics, Seoul, South Korea, Lifetime Member of the Speech Organization of the Philippines, Member of the Linguistic Society of the Philippines, and Associate Member of the National Research Council of the Philippines, Social Sciences Division- the country\'s most prestigious and leading research organization powered by the DOST, to name a few. More so, he has presented research papers in national and international conferences and published researches in international refereed journals such as Scopus and Web of Science and ISI. His research interests dwell within Corpus Linguistics, Discourse Analysis, Literary/Textual Analysis, Lavender Linguistics and Queer Studies. Currently, he works as an Associate Professor V at the College of Teacher Education of the University of Antique, teaching Linguistics, Literature and Professional Education Courses.
