Profile: Ahmed Fahad is Assistant Professor in the English department at Thi-Qar University, where he has taught courses in Second Language Acquisition, teacher education, TESOL Methods, Teaching Grammar, discourse analysis, linguistics and Intercultural Communication. Ahmed has taught EFL in public and private schools in Iraq and ESL in universities in the United States. Ahmed has a strong record of community service in TESOL. He served on the Ohio TESOL Board for three years as IS chair and the educational adviser and English language coordinator from the U.S embassy in Thi-Qar province. He was also awarded different prestigious awards and prizes such as the outstanding international graduate student award and the Holmes scholar program award where he served in its board as well. Ahmed received a B.A. in EFL from Thi-Qar University, Iraq, a M.A. in linguistics from Baghdad University, Iraq and MEd in TESOL, as well as a doctorate in Literacy and second language studies from The University of Cincinnati, USA.
