Dr. Amna Mohammed Bedri Associate Professor, Ahfad Institute of Languages, Ahfad University for Women taught English about 25 years in schools and universities in Sudan and abroad and was Head of the English Language Unit for eight years and then director of the Ahfad Institute of Languages for three years . Now she coordinates postgraduate studies, supervises students on teaching practice and teaches TEFL and postgraduate students. She teaches postgraduate students, supervises, examines MA and PhD theses, contributed in writing English syllabuses for a number of universities. She was Head of the English Department, Omdurman Islamic University for twelve years. Dr. Amna has also published research in the area of Education and Girls’ Education besides co editing a book on the same topic. She was Regional Consultant for UNICEF and UNESCO for girls’ education. She helped establish and was President of the Association for Sudanese Teachers of English Language 2007-2014.
